About this clinic

About Miracle Leaf® South Miami

Our Miracle Leaf® office sits at 5881 Sunset Dr, right in the compact, walkable downtown that grew up around the Shops at Sunset Place. The South Miami Metrorail station is just steps away, and that's the part we love most about this spot: you can get to us without a car at all, riding in from Dadeland, Coral Gables, or downtown Miami along the rail line. We're a certification clinic here, not a cannabis store.

Easy to reach, open late

We're one of the few offices you can genuinely reach by Metrorail, and we pair that with evening hours six days a week so folks commuting from anywhere in the county can find a time that works. When you come in, one of our physicians reviews your medical history, decides whether a qualifying condition under Florida law applies, and enters the certification that makes your state registration possible. We see first-time and returning patients both.

Getting here

If you're driving, there's garage and street parking nearby. If you'd rather ride, just walk over from the South Miami Metrorail stop. Bring a Florida ID or other proof of residency and any records of your condition, and if you can, finish the portal intake before you arrive so we can get you in faster.

A certification office, not a dispensary

Florida law requires a physician's certification before you can register and buy at a licensed Medical Marijuana Treatment Center, which is a separate state-licensed business from ours. We provide the evaluation and certification only. The purchase comes later, after the state approves you.

State physician registry verification

The Florida Department of Health Office of Medical Marijuana Use maintains a public registry of qualified physicians. Before your visit, look up your certifying physician through the OMMU qualified physician search. Access date: 2026-06-01.

More Miracle Leaf® Florida resources

Patients new to the Florida program can review the Florida OMMU registration requirements for step-by-step certification details. The Florida MMJ statewide overview covers qualifying conditions, telehealth posture, and clinic-locator information statewide. Plan your visit

Preparing for Your Appointment

What to bring

  • Government-issued photo ID showing your state residency (driver’s license, passport, or state ID).
  • Medical records documenting your qualifying condition. Recent diagnosis notes, treatment records, imaging reports, or prescriptions all help the physician confirm eligibility.
  • List of current medications including supplements and over-the-counter treatments.

Before you arrive

  • Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to complete intake paperwork.
  • Wear comfortable clothing. The visit involves a routine medical conversation, not a physical procedure.
  • Bring payment for the evaluation fee. The clinic accepts most major payment methods. State program fees are paid separately to the state.

During the visit

A licensed physician reviews your records, discusses your symptoms, and determines whether you meet a qualifying condition. The physician evaluation itself takes about 15 minutes. If you qualify, the physician completes the certification step required by your state program.

After the visit

Miracle Leaf® specializes in guiding patients through each step of the process during and after the appointment. Miracle Leaf® has over 8 years of experience working with the Florida Medical Marijuana Use Registry (MMUR).

Approved patients receive instructions for state registration. You purchase products separately from a state-licensed treatment center. Miracle Leaf® clinics do not dispense or sell cannabis products.

  • Unlike other Medical Card places that may have you pay up-front or pay fees before even showing up, these people here are extremely welcoming and will always try to help you out. Have had my card renewed here for 2+ years and I have never had any issues with the doctors or staff!

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Is the South Miami office a dispensary?
No. The office on Sunset Drive is a physician certification clinic. A qualified doctor evaluates whether you meet a qualifying condition under Florida law and, if appropriate, records a certification in the state registry. Cannabis is sold only at a separate licensed treatment center.
Where is the South Miami clinic?
The clinic is at 5881 Sunset Dr in South Miami, near the Shops at Sunset Place and the South Miami Metrorail station, in the walkable downtown district along Sunset Drive. Garage and street parking are available nearby.
What should I bring to my first South Miami appointment?
Bring a valid Florida-issued ID or proof of Florida residency and any medical records that document a qualifying condition. Completing your intake form in the patient portal before you arrive helps shorten the visit.
What conditions qualify under the Florida program?
Florida Statute 381.986 lists qualifying conditions including cancer, epilepsy, glaucoma, HIV and AIDS, PTSD, ALS, Crohn's disease, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and terminal conditions, plus a comparable class clause and chronic nonmalignant pain caused by a qualifying condition. A physician determines eligibility during the evaluation.
Does Florida accept an out-of-state medical card?
No. Florida does not recognize medical cannabis cards issued by other states. Seasonal and part-year residents must complete a Florida certification and register with the state under the same rules as permanent residents.
