About this clinic

About Miracle Leaf® Miami Beach

If South Beach is your part of the island, you know the western edge of it feels a world apart from Ocean Drive: Alton Rd running quiet and steady, the Sunset Harbour blocks just up the way, the Venetian Causeway carrying you back to the mainland. Miracle Leaf® South Beach sits right in it at 1743 Alton Rd, so neighbors on this side of the beach have a certification office close to home. We're a doctor's office for your Florida medical marijuana certification, not a retail storefront where cannabis is sold. If you qualify, there are dispensaries a short walk down Alton.

What we do here

One of our physicians sits down with you, reviews your medical history, and decides whether your condition is recognized under Florida law. If it is, the doctor records a certification in the state registry, which is the step that makes you eligible to register with the state. The office itself does not dispense or sell any cannabis product.

We see new patients and renewals both. We're happy to walk you through how the Florida program works, what documentation the state asks for, and what to expect from the evaluation, all in a private setting just off the Venetian Causeway approach.

What to bring to your visit

Bring a valid Florida photo ID or other proof of a Florida address, along with any records that document your condition. If you only spend part of the year on the island, bring proof of your temporary Florida address too, since the registry checks residency before it approves you. Alton Rd is one of the busier corridors on the beach, so leave extra time to park. Metered street spots, nearby garages, and the Miami Beach trolley all serve the Sunset Harbour stretch where we are.

A clinic, not a treatment center

Under Fla. Stat. 381.986, Florida keeps the medical certification and the retail purchase as two separate licensed steps. We handle the certification. You buy the product afterward at a state-licensed Medical Marijuana Treatment Center, a separate business, once the state approves your registration, and the nearest ones are a short walk south on Alton.

State physician registry verification

The Florida Department of Health Office of Medical Marijuana Use maintains a public registry of qualified physicians. Before your visit, look up your certifying physician through the OMMU qualified physician search. Access date: 2026-06-01.

Plan your visit

Preparing for Your Appointment

What to bring

  • Government-issued photo ID showing your state residency (driver’s license, passport, or state ID).
  • Medical records documenting your qualifying condition. Recent diagnosis notes, treatment records, imaging reports, or prescriptions all help the physician confirm eligibility.
  • List of current medications including supplements and over-the-counter treatments.

Before you arrive

  • Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to complete intake paperwork.
  • Wear comfortable clothing. The visit involves a routine medical conversation, not a physical procedure.
  • Bring payment for the evaluation fee. The clinic accepts most major payment methods. State program fees are paid separately to the state.

During the visit

A licensed physician reviews your records, discusses your symptoms, and determines whether you meet a qualifying condition. The physician evaluation itself takes about 15 minutes. If you qualify, the physician completes the certification step required by your state program.

After the visit

Miracle Leaf® specializes in guiding patients through each step of the process during and after the appointment. Miracle Leaf® has over 8 years of experience working with the Florida Medical Marijuana Use Registry (MMUR).

Approved patients receive instructions for state registration. You purchase products separately from a state-licensed treatment center. Miracle Leaf® clinics do not dispense or sell cannabis products.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Is the South Beach office a dispensary?
No. The Alton Rd office is a physician certification clinic. A qualified doctor evaluates whether you meet a qualifying condition under Florida law and, if appropriate, enters a certification in the state registry. Approved patients then purchase products from a separate licensed Medical Marijuana Treatment Center.
Where is the Miami Beach clinic and is parking available?
The clinic sits at 1743 Alton Rd in Miami Beach, on the western edge of South Beach near the Sunset Harbour district. Alton Rd is a primary north-south corridor with metered street parking and nearby municipal garages, and the location is reachable by Miami Beach trolley routes.
What should I bring to my first South Beach appointment?
Bring a valid Florida-issued ID or proof of Florida residency and any medical records that document a qualifying condition. Out-of-state seasonal residents should bring proof of a temporary Florida address, since the state registry requires residency documentation.
What conditions qualify under the Florida program?
Florida Statute 381.986 lists qualifying conditions including cancer, epilepsy, glaucoma, HIV and AIDS, PTSD, ALS, Crohn's disease, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and terminal conditions, plus a comparable class clause and chronic nonmalignant pain caused by a qualifying condition. A physician determines eligibility during your evaluation.
Does Florida accept an out-of-state medical card?
No. Florida does not recognize medical cannabis cards issued by other states. Seasonal and part-year residents must complete a Florida certification and register with the state under the same rules as permanent residents.
How does the state registry process work after my visit?
After a qualifying physician enters your certification, you apply to the Florida Medical Marijuana Use Registry and pay the state application fee. Once the state approves your registration, your registry identification lets you purchase from any licensed treatment center in Florida.
