Fernandina Beach certification clinic

Miracle Leaf® Fernandina Beach Medical Marijuana Doctors

We are the certification office right here on Amelia Island, on the State Road 200 approach so neighbors no longer have to drive south to the Jacksonville metro to get certified. We see folks from Fernandina Beach and the Nassau County mainland for the Florida medical marijuana evaluation and walk you through the state registry one step at a time. We are a doctor's office, not a dispensary.

About this clinic

About Miracle Leaf® Fernandina Beach

Amelia Island sits at the northeastern tip of Florida, one bridge crossing from the mainland and only a few miles south of the Georgia line. We set up our Miracle Leaf® Fernandina Beach office right here to serve the island and the Nassau County mainland behind it, reached by the State Road 200 and A1A approaches that carry traffic on and off the island. Folks come to us for the physician evaluation tied to the Florida Medical Marijuana Use Registry, and nothing on site is for sale.

Serving the island and its mainland

You know Fernandina Beach: the compact historic town with its shrimping-port downtown, the Fort Clinch end, and the resort districts toward the south of the island. Behind it on the mainland sit Yulee and the rural Nassau County communities. Before we opened out here, most of you had to drive south into the Jacksonville metro just for an evaluation. We put the office on Amelia Island to close that gap for the county's northeastern corner. This is a real retirement and veteran community, with a notably high share of military veterans, including many Vietnam-era vets, and we keep the visit unhurried so it suits the neighbors we serve.

Inside the certification visit

When you come in, one of our physicians reviews your records and decides whether your condition is recognized under Florida law. If it is, that gets recorded as a certification in the state registry, which is the step that lets you complete your own state registration. We handle both first-time certifications and renewals.

What island residents should bring

Bring a Florida photo ID or other proof of a Florida address and any records documenting your condition. The island sees a steady stream of seasonal residents and visitors, so if you live here only part of the year, carry current Florida-address proof. The registry verifies residency before approving an application, and we would rather you bring it once than make a second trip across the bridge.

A clinic, not a dispensary

Florida law, at Fla. Stat. 381.986, treats the medical certification and the retail purchase as two separate licensed steps, and we only handle the first. We do the certification here. The purchase happens later at a state-licensed Medical Marijuana Treatment Center, a distinct business, after the state approves your registration. There is a dispensary just down State Road 200 if you qualify, but it is separate from us by law.

State physician registry verification

The Florida Department of Health Office of Medical Marijuana Use maintains a public registry of qualified physicians. Before your visit, look up your certifying physician through the OMMU qualified physician search. Access date: 2026-06-01.

Plan your visit

Preparing for Your Appointment

What to bring

  • Government-issued photo ID showing your state residency (driver’s license, passport, or state ID).
  • Medical records documenting your qualifying condition. Recent diagnosis notes, treatment records, imaging reports, or prescriptions all help the physician confirm eligibility.
  • List of current medications including supplements and over-the-counter treatments.

Before you arrive

  • Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to complete intake paperwork.
  • Wear comfortable clothing. The visit involves a routine medical conversation, not a physical procedure.
  • Bring payment for the evaluation fee. The clinic accepts most major payment methods. State program fees are paid separately to the state.

During the visit

A licensed physician reviews your records, discusses your symptoms, and determines whether you meet a qualifying condition. A typical visit takes 30 to 45 minutes. If you qualify, the physician completes the certification step required by your state program.

After the visit

Approved patients receive instructions for state registration. You purchase products separately from a state-licensed treatment center. Miracle Leaf® clinics do not dispense or sell cannabis products.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Is the Fernandina Beach office a dispensary?
No. The Fernandina Beach office is a physician certification clinic. A qualified doctor evaluates whether you meet a condition recognized under Florida law and, when appropriate, records a certification in the state registry. Any cannabis product is purchased separately at a licensed Medical Marijuana Treatment Center.
Where is the Fernandina Beach clinic located?
The clinic serves Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island in Nassau County, Florida's northeasternmost barrier island. It is reachable for patients on Amelia Island and across mainland Nassau County by way of the State Road 200 and A1A approaches to the island.
What should I bring to my Fernandina Beach appointment?
Bring a valid Florida-issued ID or other proof of Florida residency, plus any medical records that document a qualifying condition. Seasonal residents who spend part of the year on Amelia Island should bring proof of a current Florida address for the state registry.
What conditions qualify under the Florida program?
Florida Statute 381.986 lists qualifying conditions including cancer, epilepsy, glaucoma, HIV and AIDS, PTSD, ALS, Crohn's disease, Parkinson's disease, and multiple sclerosis, plus a comparable-class clause and chronic nonmalignant pain caused by a qualifying condition. A physician determines eligibility during the evaluation.
Does Florida accept an out-of-state medical card?
No. Florida does not recognize medical cannabis cards issued by other states. Part-year and seasonal residents must complete a Florida certification and register with the state under the same rules as permanent residents.
