Homestead certification clinic

Miracle Leaf® Homestead Medical Marijuana Doctors

A neighborhood certification clinic on NE 8th St, down at the south end of Miami-Dade where the farmland and the road to the Keys begin. We see Homestead and Florida City patients for the Florida medical marijuana evaluation so the far south county doesn't have to drive north for it. We're a doctor's office, not a dispensary.

About this clinic

About Miracle Leaf® Homestead

If you call Homestead home, you know how far south you really are: 1994 NE 8th St sits in the last good-sized town before US-1 narrows and runs down toward the Keys, out where the farmland, the growing subdivisions, and the families near the Air Reserve Base all share the same stretch of road. Clinics and services are spread thin this far down, so we opened here on purpose. Miracle Leaf® gives Homestead and Florida City neighbors a certification office close to home instead of a long haul north into the metro. We're a doctor's office, not a dispensary; no cannabis is sold at the address.

A local office for a spread-out community

Because options are scarce down here, we handle both first-time certifications and the program's recurring renewals for folks who would otherwise have to travel a long way for either. That matters to the veterans near the base who can't get cannabis certified through the VA, and to the farmworkers and tradespeople whose days don't leave much room for a trip up the county. One of our physicians reviews your history, decides whether your condition is recognized under Florida law, and records the certification that lets you register with the state.

Coming in

The NE 8th St office has surface parking and sits an easy turn off US-1 and the main south-county roads. Bring a Florida ID or other proof of a Florida address along with the records that document your condition, and finish the portal intake before you arrive so we can move you through quickly.

A clinic, not a treatment center

Florida Statute 381.986 keeps the physician's certification and the retail purchase as two separate licensed steps. We handle the certification. You buy the product afterward at a state-licensed Medical Marijuana Treatment Center, a separate business, once your registration is approved. Homestead's own rules keep dispensaries out of town, so the nearest one is a couple of miles south in Florida City.

State physician registry verification

The Florida Department of Health Office of Medical Marijuana Use maintains a public registry of qualified physicians. Before your visit, look up your certifying physician through the OMMU qualified physician search. Access date: 2026-06-01.

Plan your visit

Preparing for Your Appointment

What to bring

  • Government-issued photo ID showing your state residency (driver’s license, passport, or state ID).
  • Medical records documenting your qualifying condition. Recent diagnosis notes, treatment records, imaging reports, or prescriptions all help the physician confirm eligibility.
  • List of current medications including supplements and over-the-counter treatments.

Before you arrive

  • Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to complete intake paperwork.
  • Wear comfortable clothing. The visit involves a routine medical conversation, not a physical procedure.
  • Bring payment for the evaluation fee. The clinic accepts most major payment methods. State program fees are paid separately to the state.

During the visit

A licensed physician reviews your records, discusses your symptoms, and determines whether you meet a qualifying condition. A typical visit takes 30 to 45 minutes. If you qualify, the physician completes the certification step required by your state program.

After the visit

Approved patients receive instructions for state registration. You purchase products separately from a state-licensed treatment center. Miracle Leaf® clinics do not dispense or sell cannabis products.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Is the Homestead office a dispensary?
No. The office on NE 8th Street is a physician certification clinic. A qualified doctor evaluates whether you meet a qualifying condition under Florida law and, if appropriate, records a certification in the state registry. Cannabis is sold only at a separate licensed treatment center.
Where is the Homestead clinic?
The clinic is at 1994 NE 8th St in Homestead, in far south Miami-Dade County, serving the Homestead and Florida City area and patients along the southern stretch of US-1 toward the Florida Keys. Surface parking is available.
What should I bring to my first Homestead appointment?
Bring a valid Florida-issued ID or proof of Florida residency and any medical records that document a qualifying condition. Completing your intake form in the patient portal before you arrive helps shorten the visit.
What conditions qualify under the Florida program?
Florida Statute 381.986 lists qualifying conditions including cancer, epilepsy, glaucoma, HIV and AIDS, PTSD, ALS, Crohn's disease, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and terminal conditions, plus a comparable class clause and chronic nonmalignant pain caused by a qualifying condition. A physician determines eligibility during the evaluation.
Does Florida accept an out-of-state medical card?
No. Florida does not recognize medical cannabis cards issued by other states. Seasonal and part-year residents must complete a Florida certification and register with the state under the same rules as permanent residents.
