About this clinic

About Miracle Leaf® San Marcos

If you know San Marcos, you know that easy spot right in the middle of everything: the Hays County seat sitting on I-35 about halfway between Austin and San Antonio, built around the spring-fed river and Texas State University. We set up on N LBJ Dr, near the campus and the old square, so neighbors on this stretch of the corridor don't have to fight traffic into either big city to get seen. Miracle Leaf® is a doctor's office for your Texas Compassionate Use Program evaluation, not a dispensary. Texas runs a prescription program here, not a card, and we handle the physician side of it.

Right here in the middle of the corridor

Austin pulls from the north and San Antonio from the south, and San Marcos has grown into the natural meeting point for all the towns strung between them, from Buda and Kyle up the road to New Braunfels down toward the Comal County line. We opened on N LBJ Dr, close to the university and the historic square, so our Hays County neighbors and the folks pouring into all this new growth have a Compassionate Use office close to home instead of a long drive into the metros.

What the physician evaluation covers

One of our CURT-registered physicians sits down with you, goes through your medical history, and decides whether your condition is recognized under Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 487. If it is, the doctor enters a low-THC cannabis prescription directly into the Compassionate Use Registry of Texas. There's no card in Texas; that prescription on file is what gives you access.

Bring with you

Bring a Texas photo ID or other proof of a Texas address, plus any records that document your condition. The program is for Texas residents only and doesn't honor medical cards from other states, so both your residency proof and your condition records help the physician with the eligibility review. Not sure what counts? Call us first and we'll tell you exactly what to bring.

A clinic, not a dispensing organization

Under Chapter 487, the CURT-registered physician has to enter the prescription before any low-THC cannabis can be obtained, and the Department of Public Safety runs the registry. We handle that evaluation and the prescription, and that's it. You fill the prescription afterward through a licensed Texas dispensing organization, a separate, state-licensed business, often by secure home delivery right to your door.

Plan your visit

Preparing for Your Appointment

What to bring

  • Government-issued photo ID showing your state residency (driver’s license, passport, or state ID).
  • Medical records documenting your qualifying condition. Recent diagnosis notes, treatment records, imaging reports, or prescriptions all help the physician confirm eligibility.
  • List of current medications including supplements and over-the-counter treatments.

Before you arrive

  • Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to complete intake paperwork.
  • Wear comfortable clothing. The visit involves a routine medical conversation, not a physical procedure.
  • Bring payment for the evaluation fee. The clinic accepts most major payment methods. State program fees are paid separately to the state.

During the visit

A licensed physician reviews your records, discusses your symptoms, and determines whether you meet a qualifying condition. The physician evaluation itself takes about 15 minutes. If you qualify, the physician completes the certification step required by your state program.

After the visit

Approved patients receive instructions for state registration. You purchase products separately from a state-licensed treatment center. Miracle Leaf® clinics do not dispense or sell cannabis products.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Is the San Marcos office a dispensary?
No. The N LBJ Dr office is a physician clinic. A CURT-registered doctor evaluates whether you meet a qualifying condition under the Texas Compassionate Use Program and, when appropriate, enters a low-THC cannabis prescription into the state registry. Product is supplied separately by a licensed Texas dispensing organization.
Where is the San Marcos clinic located?
The clinic is on N LBJ Dr in San Marcos, in Hays County along the Interstate 35 corridor between Austin and San Antonio. The location is near the Texas State University area and is convenient for patients across Hays County and the central Texas corridor.
What should I bring to my San Marcos appointment?
Bring a valid Texas-issued ID or other proof of Texas residency, plus any medical records that document a qualifying condition. The Texas Compassionate Use Program is limited to Texas residents and does not recognize out-of-state medical cards.
What conditions qualify under the Texas program?
Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 487 lists qualifying conditions including epilepsy and seizure disorders, cancer, multiple sclerosis, ALS, autism, certain incurable neurodegenerative diseases, PTSD, and chronic pain. A CURT-registered physician determines eligibility during the evaluation.
How does the Texas Compassionate Use Program work after my visit?
A CURT-registered physician enters a prescription for low-THC cannabis into the Compassionate Use Registry of Texas. There is no separate state ID card; the prescription itself is the access mechanism. The patient then fills the prescription through a licensed Texas dispensing organization.
