About this clinic

About Miracle Leaf® Palmetto Bay

If you live down in the south end of Miami-Dade, you know South Dixie Highway, the US-1 spine that carries everyone through the quiet, leafy villages between the city and the bay. We set up right on it at 13983 S Dixie Hwy, sitting between Pinecrest just to our north and Cutler Bay just to our south. The US-1 busway runs alongside, so neighbors who'd rather ride than drive can reach us too. We're here for one thing: your physician certification. We don't sell or keep any cannabis on site.

Open six days, into the evening

We keep our doors open six days a week and lean our hours later in the day, because we know a lot of you are heading up to central Miami for work and need a time that doesn't fight your commute. When you come in, one of our physicians sits down with you, looks over your history, and decides whether your condition is recognized under Florida law. If it is, we record the certification that lets you register with the state. We see brand-new patients and renewals both.

What to bring with you

Bring a Florida ID or other proof of your Florida address, plus any medical records that document your condition. If you can, fill out the intake form in our online portal before you come in, and it'll get you out the door faster. There's surface parking right out front on South Dixie.

A clinic, not a treatment center

Florida keeps the medical certification and the retail purchase as two separate licensed steps, and that's by design under Fla. Stat. 381.986. We handle the certification. Once the state approves your registration, you buy your product afterward at a state-licensed Medical Marijuana Treatment Center, which is a separate business from ours.

State physician registry verification

The Florida Department of Health Office of Medical Marijuana Use maintains a public registry of qualified physicians. Before your visit, look up your certifying physician through the OMMU qualified physician search. Access date: 2026-06-01.

Review note

Plan your visit

Preparing for Your Appointment

What to bring

  • Government-issued photo ID showing your state residency (driver’s license, passport, or state ID).
  • Medical records documenting your qualifying condition. Recent diagnosis notes, treatment records, imaging reports, or prescriptions all help the physician confirm eligibility.
  • List of current medications including supplements and over-the-counter treatments.

Before you arrive

  • Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to complete intake paperwork.
  • Wear comfortable clothing. The visit involves a routine medical conversation, not a physical procedure.
  • Bring payment for the evaluation fee. The clinic accepts most major payment methods. State program fees are paid separately to the state.

During the visit

A licensed physician reviews your records, discusses your symptoms, and determines whether you meet a qualifying condition. The physician evaluation itself takes about 15 minutes. If you qualify, the physician completes the certification step required by your state program.

After the visit

Miracle Leaf® specializes in guiding patients through each step of the process during and after the appointment. Miracle Leaf® has over 8 years of experience working with the Florida Medical Marijuana Use Registry (MMUR).

Approved patients receive instructions for state registration. You purchase products separately from a state-licensed treatment center. Miracle Leaf® clinics do not dispense or sell cannabis products.

  • I needed assistance to get the license as a caregiver for my son. Brian took over; he did all I could never have done due to the obstacles presented. He spent a lot of time with calls to the government office. He was kind and committed to getting the matter resolved. I was very impressed by his knowledge and persistence to advocate for my son, who is ill and in great need. Thank you, Brian. You are super!!!

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Is the Palmetto Bay office a dispensary?
No. The office on S Dixie Hwy is a physician certification clinic. A qualified doctor evaluates whether you meet a qualifying condition under Florida law and, if appropriate, records a certification in the state registry. Cannabis is sold only at a separate licensed treatment center.
Where is the Palmetto Bay clinic?
The clinic is at 13983 S Dixie Hwy in Palmetto Bay, on the South Dixie Highway corridor in southern Miami-Dade County between Pinecrest and Cutler Bay. It is convenient to the US-1 busway and surrounding suburban neighborhoods, with surface parking available.
What should I bring to my first Palmetto Bay appointment?
Bring a valid Florida-issued ID or proof of Florida residency and any medical records that document a qualifying condition. Completing your intake form in the patient portal before you arrive helps shorten the visit.
What conditions qualify under the Florida program?
Florida Statute 381.986 lists qualifying conditions including cancer, epilepsy, glaucoma, HIV and AIDS, PTSD, ALS, Crohn's disease, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and terminal conditions, plus a comparable class clause and chronic nonmalignant pain caused by a qualifying condition. A physician determines eligibility during the evaluation.
Does Florida accept an out-of-state medical card?
No. Florida does not recognize medical cannabis cards issued by other states. Seasonal and part-year residents must complete a Florida certification and register with the state under the same rules as permanent residents.
